LORAIN COUNTY FALL FARM TOUR
                      (by bike)

Do the Lorain County Fall Farm Tour by bike!  This annual drive-it-yourself tour is sponsored by Lorain County Farm Bureau.  Six farms/agribusinesses in the western part of the county will be showcased.  We'll ride a 2+ pace between tour stops and there will be some hills including Baird Rd. hill twice, (in opposite directions).  This is a sight seeing ride with a 15-20 minute stop at each of the featured farms and businesses.  Stops include:
1.)  IBN's Acres Equine Training Center and Fox's Fine Swine - Quarry Rd., Oberlin
2.)  Green Circle Growers - Floriculture farm established in 1968 by the vanWingerden Family with 4 million sq. ft. of growing space.  Orchids are one of the major commodities with 33 acres dedicated to orchids making Green Circle the largest orchid grower in North America - Rt. 511, Oberlin
3.)  Schlechter Brother's Farm & Sugar Shack - Sixth generation farm.  Their sugaring operation has grown to a production of 400-600 gallons of syrup each spring - Baird Rd., Amherst
4.)  Schlechter Brother's Country Market - Seasonal market sells decorations, vegetables, maple products grown/produced on the farm - Rt. 113, Amherst
5.)  Firelands Farm - Fifth generation family operated beef & grain farm - Rt. 113, Amherst
6.)  Matus Winery - Tour the vineyard and wine making room and taste some of their award winning wines - Gore Orphanage Rd., Wakeman

Etta Rowe will be acting as our sag driver to meet us at the tour stops so that any purchases you make can be transported back to the parking lot for you.  Bring $ if you wish to buy anything.

There will be door prizes too!  To view the complete flyer on the Fall Farm Tour, click the flyer link below:

NOTE: We will be using a more bike friendly route - different than the vehicle map shown on the flyer.

This is NOT a short ride time-wise.  We'll probably return to Oberlin between 4:00-5:00 p.m.  We did a Fall Farm Tour ride a few years ago and folks seemed to enjoy it.
