  Rider and Ride Leader Seminar

What better way to prepare for the season than by availing yourself to a training session designed for riders and ride leaders of all levels? All members welcome.

This event will feature:

a panel consisting of a ride leader from each star level taking questions from the audience,

a presentation by club member Kenneth Knabe, an attorney specializing in cycling law,

a presentation by Rob Hipskind on RWGPS and

a presentation on basic first aid or what to do until the ambulance arrives by Sue Wells and Pat Serio.

Registration is requested - but NOT required - for attendance.  Just click the gray "Register" button and supply your name & email.

We have secured the meeting room of the First Church in Oberlin (United Church of Christ) located at 106 N. Main St. (Rte 58), at the intersection of Rte 58 and Rte 511 a.k.a.  Lorain Ave. The church parking lot is on the north side of the building accessed off of Lorain Ave.  Adjacent parking is for Oberlin College but we have been told that it is also available for our use. There is also parking in the streets nearby.

We will open at 8:45 a. m. for coffee and snacks and start the seminar at 9 a.m., finishing by 12:30 p.m. There will be handouts, the Revised Ride Leader Guide Lines, Revised Ride Registration forms and Ride With GPS information for the first 40 people. You will find these on the club’s website also.  So bring your curiosity and join us to learn about:

- leading rides from a panel of our more experienced ride leaders,

- some legal aspects of bicycling from an attorney who bicycles,

- Ride with GPS from our undisputed expert, and

- emergency first aid from two health professional members.

So set aside the date and join us as we seek to raise safety awareness, discuss what to expect from a ride leader, what ride leaders should expect from riders, and much more.

Hope to see you there. you there.

                         Dennis Stout,

                         Chairman, Ride Committee

NOTE: The church, built in the 1830s, has a rich history and is a worthy destination all by itself.
