Ride of Silence   Oberlin Depot

This will be our 7th Annual Ride of Silence, preceding the normal Wednesday club rides.. Along with hundreds of other groups across the country we participate in this unique event.
The event originated to memorialize friends who were killed while riding and to bring to drivers attention that they are sharing the road with bicycles . We go one step further and recall all members who have passed while part of our organization. We have had two members die on bikes and quite a few more who have passed otherwise.  

After a brief ceremony at the Oberlin Depot, our route will take us on a six mile loop around Oberlin, beginning and ending at the Oberlin Depot, escorted by the Oberlin Police.  As we slowly depart the Depot silently, in single file, club member Pati Habenicht will be playing Amazing Grace on her bagpipes..  Silver Wheels will provide black armbands for the occasion. Its a moving ceremony for a great cause.

The regular Wednesday evening club rides will start after the completion of the RoS..
