Ride of Silence   Oberlin Depot

(park on the west - SR 58 side - of the Auto Zone lot)

This will be our 9th Annual Ride of Silence,. Along with hundreds of other groups across the country we participate in this unique event.  It originated to memorialize friends who were killed while riding and to bring to drivers attention that they are sharing the road with bicycles . We go one step further and recall all members who have passed while part of our organization. We have had two members die on bikes and quite a few more who have passed otherwise.  

After a brief ceremony at the Oberlin Depot, our route will take us on a slow, 10 mph, six mile loop around Oberlin, escorted by the Oberlin Police.  We depart the Depot and ride silently in single file.  Silver Wheels will provide some black armbands for the occasion. Its a moving ceremony for a great cause.

Any regular Wednesday evening club ride(s) will start after the completion of the RoS..
