Ride of Silence
This will be our 11th Annual Ride of Silence. Along with hundreds of other groups across the country we participate in this unique event. It originated to memorialize friends who were killed while riding and to bring to the attention of drivers that they are sharing the road with bicycles. We go one step further and recall all members who have passed while part of our organization. We have had two members die on bikes and quite a few more who have passed otherwise.
Please gather outside of the Oberlin Depot by 5PM. You can park at the AutoZone lot and safely cross Rt. 58. We will then have a short ceremony honoring Silver Wheelers who have passed on. Then we will participate in a six mile, 10 mph ride with police escort around Oberlin. We will be single file and silent. Steve Osmialowski will lead this ride.
Any regular Wednesday evening club ride(s) will start after the completion of the RoS.
