Halloween Ride and Potluck

This fun ride and potluck is on the Calendar again this year! Bicycle safe costumes are encouraged, but not required. We will be starting at the Oberlin Library, 65 S. Main Street. Park in the library parking lot, the police station/city hall lot, or at the medical offices just behind the library.

10:00 a.m. The club has reserved the Community Room (just inside the front doors past the restrooms, on the right) from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. If you are bringing a crockpot of soup, or other potluck items, the room will be open for drop-off. A refrigerator is available in the kitchenette.

10:30 a.m. Short bike parade by costumed riders or any Silver Wheels riders, returning to the library parking lot, perhaps shed onerous costumes, and form up for the rides.

10:45 a.m. Rides for each pace level leave the east end of library parking lot exiting onto Pleasant St.

12:45 p.m. Lunch! Soup, salads, and of course desserts! Optional: Stay after lunch to play table games and socialize.

Here’s where help is needed:

Potluck Contributors: Members are welcome (not mandatory) to bring salads, breads, crackers, desserts, etc. You don’t have to sign up to indicate what you are bringing in advance - you bring it, we'll eat it. If you have nothing to bring, come anyway.  We only ran out of food once – but that is another story.

Soup “Sentries”: 2 or 3 people are needed to arrive at 10 a.m. when the library opens and help set up tables and chairs, buffet table, watch the crockpots, stir the soup, and set out buffet items for lunch. Soup sentries will not be riding. Contact Eva if you can help with this role.

Room Restorers: Help take down the tables and fold and stack the chairs.  You don’t have to sign up in advance, just be around to help when we wrap up.

Ride Leaders:  Ride leaders for + or – rides are also welcome to volunteer. Contact Tom if you are willing to plan and lead a ride.
