2023 Country Autumn Tour

This bike ride will stop at five of the 2023 Country Autumn Tour locations in western/southern Lorain County:

Dostall's Contry Store,

Ohio Alpaca Centre,

Quilting Shanty,

Hook's Greenhouse, and

Fabit Metal Shop.

We'll plan to spend about 10 minutes at each stop. There will be a restroom about halfway through the ride at one of the tour stops. I am not aware of any food/snacks that will be sold at any of the stops, however there will be other items such as fall produce, pumpkins, etc.  There will be a sag driver meeting us at the tour stops to transport any purchases back to Wakeman.  Be aware that we will be on several BUSY roads such as Rt. 18 and Rt. 511 in order to reach a couple of the stops. This is a ride for experienced riders. Also take a look at the route and elevation profiles, since it includes more "rollers" at the end of the 3/3+ route.  Once back in Wakeman you may wish to grab a bite, or a beer, at the Elevator, or have a cool sweet treat at the ice cream shop.

Star Chase

These rides are a star chase.  Both rides use the same route until separating at 20.2 miles.   Folks can opt for the faster or slower paced ride.  Unlike a typical club ride, the faster ride leader will not slow down for people unable to maintain the pace, leaving them to be picked up by the trailing slower group.  The slower group will leave no one behind.

NOTE: These rides will be a star chase with both groups following the same route  until they diverge at 20.2 miles.  At that point the 3*/3+ group will turn off and take a hillier return  route for the last 6 miles to Wakeman.  The 2+/3- group will continue north on Gore Orphanage, Betts and Butler with less elevation changes.  Any rider not with theh the faster group at the cut-off point where the routes diverge MUST return using the 2+/3- route
